  1. I have always been a big admirer of this speech, having heard some other backing music put to it I thought I would try myself. What do you think??
  2. Hello I'm writing a piano concerto and I have got to the cadenza. I am stuck with what to do with it. Do they have certain distinguishing features and do they have to be in the tonic key?
  3. A small playful piece for my friend who asked me for something fun. Approximate translation: Never mind, never mind, yesterday I had a girl today I have none. Now It's bad, now I'm gone I: my wife sold my oaxes for a bonnet. :I She sold a cow aswell bought herself a thingy-lingy on her head. She sold a stallion too, bought herself laces for bonnet. Never mind, never mind I: yesterday I had a thousand crowns now I have none. :I translation only for understanding the text purposes as always. Any advice on what to try out next in piano+voice songs would be much appreciated. I feel that I am getting stagnant with these "clashing" sharp dissonances at sections where there could be a conventional consonance (the intro would be a nice example and that style of harmonization is in my previous pieces as well). The only thing that differs is stylization and even that one is lacking creativity in left hand. Maybe something contrapunctual with conssonant harmony without the necessary clashes? That might get boring though. An attempt for quartal harmony would be a step up from this. Less harmony changes on a short section and maybe try using silence for tension or letting harmonies last rather than changing them so quickly. Some tip in this spirit would be appreciated. I will try so on my own but a perspective from someone more experienced would be gladly welcomed.
  4. Let me know what you see this piece fitting to, a movie scene, trailer, game, whatever it may be. On a side note, if you see yourself as a gifted mastering/mixer, please get in touch with me. I would love to pick your brain for some tips and pointers. Thank you in advance.
  5. This prelude was inspired by an autumn walk. Any kind of criticism is welcome! Prelude 1 Op.2.mp3
  6. A short piece for solo piano, basically a variation of the same theme in 2 parts, separated by the change of dynamics.
  7. Hi Everyone:) This is my latest Piano Concerto No.1, written for Piano Solo and String Orchestra. Currently, the Concerto only have 1 movement, Presto - Vivace - Presto - Allegro. (Please tell me if you want me to write 1/ 2 more movements:D) This is my very first concerto of this kind, and I am tempted to experiment the balance between Strings and Piano. I also attempt to use some chromatics and implement my favourite tuplet-against-duplet rhythmic pattern throughout the piece. Not sure if both techniques are appropriately done? This is my first time writing excerpts for Solo Piano, and I think I made it feasible as possible? Will it be too easy for a pianist to show-off? (I suppose someone will say so:P) Also, what do you think about the music in general? Particularly the development? Thank you! HoYin
  8. Please excuse the playing on this. If any pianists would like to record a better version I'd be happy to hear from you!
  9. Hey guys, this is a waltz that I wrote in D minor. It's a short piece but I tried to keep it in the form. Please let me know your opinions about it :)
  10. Hello to everyone! I'm back with a new ambient piano music composition for piano, in loving memory of Pippo, my first pet dog. This song is dedicated to him. Good listening. Andrew Ambient https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A28ZWs7cf5A
  11. Morning, Not posted here before, but seems like the sort of place I might get useful feedback. I've been composing in a few different styles for quite a while, but this seems to be the most genuine sort of sound for me at the moment. I'm not sure I can justly call it 'chamber music' so any better category suggestion would be welcomed!
  12. Hello everybody! I just finished my Piano Concerto No.1 ''Octaves'' in f minor. The Concerto consists of only one movement: Allegro con brio. The music is, of course, written for piano and string orchestra. The goal for me to write this piano concerto was to learn more about how to write for piano and how to write in a more classical, early romantic style. Note that I added some more contemporary elements as well. The concerto is in free Sonata Form: Exposition - Exposition repetition with piano (classical) || Development (many more modern elements) || Recapitulation without the second theme. I ommited the second theme in the recapitulation, because I felt like this theme was already 'mentioned' too frequently. Furtheremore, ending with the first theme sounds fine to me. What do you think about the music? Particularly the development? *The lay-out of the score still has to be done. Piano_Concerto_No.1_''Octaves''.mp3 Maarten
  13. Here is my attempt to mimic romantic style music, hoping to see thoughts anyone might have.
  14. These are some pieces based on natural things that I see or imagine.
  15. I just got Guitar Rig 5 and i wanted to do something with my guitar :) So this is a short peace iv created in an ambient mood, it was almost on my first try. I combined guitar (with ambient effects) and than on that, i played bass. I put them together, add some piano and this was the product. Waiting for comments :)
  16. Another piece written for nothing in particular, the mixing is not up to scratch as usual, however, feedback welcome as always.
  17. Hi all, my first upload on here. So, my friend came to me one day, having known that I liked to write and asked me to put something to some old footage she had of her grandparents. It took me a while to be happy with the outcome but eventually I got there. My background is classical from a young age although the last few years my knowledge seems to be failing me, as I donā€™t concentrate too much on what is right and what is wrong when it comes to the theory of writing. I play around until I hit on something I like. Let me know what you think šŸ˜¬
  18. Hi Everyone, I have started writing this piano work including a Piano solo and the string orchestra. I think I have introduced some themes into it, but are the themes insufficiently developed? Most of the time I tend to end a theme too quickly (maybe?) and start another, causing poor connection between them. (For example, mm. 29-30, 69-71, 89-90, 95-96 are such transitions) I don't have much knowledge about "bridging" motives, so I sincerely ask for some suggestions for it. Is the harmony good too? Any other comments are appreciated:D Thank you! Regards, HoYin
  19. Hey everyone! Please let me introduce you my new composition which will be included on my debut album "Ballerina", coming out in October, it's called "Reminiscence" and I composed the main theme a couple of years ago, but It felt incomplete to me and so I added more pieces to the puzzle and I hope you'll like it!
  20. I apologize for the quality. Unlike my other pieces whereas I wore studio grade headphones (which died on me after six years) I am now limited to ear buds, so mixing was an issue for me. There's so many sound flaws here I'm embarrassed to even upload this. You can barely hear the choir, the flute fades in and out, the clarinet can't be heard, and you can't even hear the viola or cello...ugh.
  21. Dear All, I'd like to hear about your opinions on this song. Thanks for your comments in advance! Charon1.mp3
  22. Hi to everyone! I'm back with a new piano & strings composition! The title is "the magic white and pink rose". I accept productive comments on my composition. I hope you like it.
